The cabin invites wildlife and weary city-dwellers to exhale in peace

Life is busy. The mountains are at peace and they run on their own time. The creeks flow slowly, but they never stop. The Western Hemlock and Lodgepole pines sway in the breeze or groan under the snow, but they always stand.

The cabin is a place to rest. To have conversation. To soak. To play. To fish. To laugh. To do puzzles. A place to find peace and reconnect. A place to write. A place to read.

The fixtures, finishes, hard goods and soft goods have all been thoughtfully curated for the perfect balance of rustic woods and modern quality.

Meet Pine Path proprietor Ryan Andrews.

The expansive back deck sits on top of the Wild and Scenic Crescent Creek

just a mile from Crescent Lake. A raindrop here winds 15 miles through ancient and not-so-ancient basalt flows to mingle with the Little Deschutes and then into the *big* Deschutes in Sunriver to start a 200 mile trek to the mighty Columbia. The upper two thirds of Crescent Creek was one of the original rivers included in Oregon’s Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1988. A designation making the creek a type of wilderness that means the grandfathered-in deck is inimitable.

The original cabin was built in the 1960s

with an outdoor outhouse that was phased out by a series of additions and renovations that brought indoor plumbing and expanded it into a 3-bedroom 3 bathroom single story with an on-the-creek dining room and the celebrated deck that is almost as big as the 2,000 square foot cabin.

It sits amidst only 4 other cabins on this exclusive section of Crescent Creek that have been handed down for two or three generations. The acre and a half of forested wildflower meadow, dotted with old growth Western Hemlock, is bordered by over 150 feet of Cold Spring Creek on one side and over 250 feet of Crescent Creek on the other. Yes you can swim.

The cabin interior displays an integration of tongue and groove pine siding and ceilings

with dark stained blue-pine shiplap that merge with the original distressed brick. The furniture is modern and comfortable including king-sized beds in each of the two main bedrooms and double bunk beds in the bunk room to comfortably sleep 8 as a perfect getaway for two families or a retreat for a few couples or a group of friends. The details are all rustic with a hammer-forged pot rack to display the copper pots and a wood stove to set the ambiance in the creek-side dining room, but the amenities are modern with an espresso machine at the drink bar, a hot tub overlooking the creek, and high-speed wifi that will stream your movies right into the heart of the woods.

Cold plunges at the cabin…

Almost everyone’s favorite pastime at the cabin, summer or winter, is to try a cold dip in one of the streams. Winter water temps are in the 30s, and summer water temps in Cold Spring Creek remain in the low 40s.

Cross country skiing at the cabin…

Hundreds of miles of nordic trails can be skiied, some right out the back door, along with several snow parks and warming huts within a 15 minute drive.
